Some hints to make it in the world of PTR:
1. Always read the terms before joining a site.
2. Do your research before joining a site.
3. Get a really good antivirus program.
Most sites have the same terms, however some of the better run ones have things in the terms you will need to know because by joining you are agreeing to them, so be sure you check those out.
ALWAYS, always check out a site before joining it. Even the ones I have recommended, please feel free to look them up in the forums, and various other sites that list sites and their attributes. Among those are the GPT Forum, GPT Boycott and the BeenPaid sites.
Alot of sites have ads for PTP programs and those sometimes have some spyware or adware attached as well as the occasional virus, so you will need a reliable anti-virus program. Avast has a free program that has proven to be one of the best out there, so consider picking up Avast from their site, avast.com. You will also want to clean your cookies and cache quite often to keep your computer clean and and running nicely. I also use a program I purchased called Advanced System Optimizer, which cleans out all the spyware and adware, as well as trash files etc. If you can afford to purchase one it comes highly recommended.
So beyond that, have fun, make friends and be sure to check out the various sites forums because there are usually some fun games or contests and forum only specials. Be sure you take advantage of those. The most important thing to remember is to not overdo it too soon. Start with a few sites and work up to more, once you have found how much time you have to put into this, because you can feel really overwhelmed with all the mail if you aren't careful. GOOD LUCK!!
